Kop Hill Climb

What a fantastic event, organization and cars as well as the lovely autumnal weather. We had a pleasant trip to Kop Hill and duly attended the driver's briefing and collected the mandatory wrist band and then waited to be called for our first run. The hill is 1 mile long and nearly straight so speeds were high at the end. The hill had the normal straw bales and marshals but not timed. The 1925 record is an astounding 80mph plus on a chalk surface. Our runs went well but the Dellow slipped out of third gear twice during our run and also had a touch of clutch slip which never happens on the road but does when the chips or my right foot is down!

We saw JK with his immaculate Maserati and Porsche 356 as well as a superb Bugatti Veyron, strangely all three were in black. Thanks are due to the organizers and marshals as well as Ron Turner for a second run in his Wolseley Hornet racer. Roll on next year when they hope to run it again. Please let us have more Dellows next year.

Tomorrow we leave home to do the Edinburgh Trial and due to our late start number will be able to get a kip in the Travelodge at the actual start. Lets hope we have clean run.
