Having taken MTT to the fete at Capel where we didn't get a prize for the "Car I would most like to take home" won by a restored E Type complete with white wall tyres, the next event was the MCC Testing Trial in Somerset on Sunday 12th July.
The event is unique comprising 4 rounds of 10 timed tests set on rough ground which may have been an old quarry or brickworks. Ignoring the clatter of the A frame on chassis tubes we managed to avoid penalties completely and beat all the other Dellows to get Third open car and well pleased at that.
Thhe car performed faultlessly on the 370 mile trip apart from the wiper spindle which needed a tighten up. A large pool of oil is evident in the garage which I think is rear oil seal.
