Sevenoaks DMC PCT, Stoneacre, Nov 8th

I entered this trial in my road car, a Y reg 1.7 Turbo Diesel Astra Estate really to see if it would be any good at this discipline. It would normally considered to be a bit heavy and unwieldy to be competitive. Tyre pressures were free on the very wet and slippy grass so I decided that 8 psi would be required. What a revelation. Normally ultra low tyre pressures in FWD cars are a pain but the electro hydraulic steering allowed me to position the car accurately without much extra effort and we succeeded in getting a 2nd in class. Pleased or what!
