Took the Dellow over to Marsh Green near Edenbridge for the first of the 2009 series of Tunbridge Wells Motor Club evening autotests.
They are great fun and very informal. I normally try and compete in these but not in the Dellow. It understeers too much on the damp grass and the brakes are nowhere near as good as the modernish Astra Diesel I use.
I marshalled Tests 1 & 2 which used the same cones but different routes. Two aspects stood out.A, The younger drivers were better at going the correct way but lost time with over exuberance. B, Many drivers did not actually stop at one point but dribbled to a stop and hence lost time, very critical when the times were so close.
An interesting but chilly evening with an enjoyable drive home in the gloaming. Must get round to adjusting the front wheel bearings to stop the steering wander.
